Italian B division side, AC Perugia has announced the signing of AS Roma’s Sadiq Umar on a loan deal for the rest of the 2018-2019 season.
The striker spent the first half of the season under Steven Gerrard at Rangers but cancelled his contract six months earlier than planned.
Speaking to Owngoalnigeria, Sadiq explains why he chose to move to Perugia.
” Perugia have been interested in me for a while. Although this time around I had offers from teams playing in top division in other European Leagues, I decided to opt for Perugia because I will no doubt get playing time,” Sadiq said.
“It’s my first season ever in the Serie B but I won’t struggle to adapt because I understand the language, the culture and also the style of play in Italy which might not be the case if I decide to move to a team in another league “
