Super Eagles have no choice but to beat Libya – Rohr

Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr has disclosed that the team is condemned to beat Libya in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations double-header clash.

Having lost their opening fixture against South Africa 2-0, Nigeria bounced back by overcoming Seychelles 3-0 in Victoria last month and will be hoping to pick another maximum point against Libya at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on October 13 before the reverse fixture three days later.

It will be recalled that the North Africa team have four points from two games and are joint top on the table on goal difference ahead of South Africa that’s also with four points.

However, Rohr who spoke with a Lagos based radio station that was monitored by Soccernet.ng, stated that he’s confident with the calibre of players he has invited to deliver the job for him.

“We have two crucial games against Libya. It’s crucial that we get positive results over the two legs and try to qualify for the competition as early as possible.

“There are abundant pool of players that I can choose from. Any of the invited players can get the job done as we enter the crucial bend of the qualification for AFCON.

“The boys are hungry and youthful. That’s the major driving force that will propel the Super Eagles to the AFCON.”
