Super Eagles are one game away from booking a ticket to Cameroon after overcoming Libya 3-2 on Tuesday in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Sfax, Tunisia.
Odion Ighalo scored his fifth goal in two matches against Libya when he opened the floodgate of goals in the 13th minute with a simple tap-in before Ahmed Musa increased Nigeria’s goal tally to two with another simple finish.
The Libyans reduced the scoreline in the 33rd minutes before levelling score to 2-2 in the 74th minutes.
However, Ighalo restored Nigeria’s lead in the 81st minute to earned the team the maximum point ahead of their mouth-watering clash against South Africa in November.
With Nigeria on nine points and South Africa on eight points, the game in the Madiba land could determine which team tops the group.
