Amrouche steps down as Libya coach ahead of Super Eagles clash

It will be good news for the Super Eagles after Libya coach, Adel Amrouche stepped down from his position just a few days before the two teams clash in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo.

Amrouche’s resignation may have come as a surprise to many football enthusiasts considering the fact that the North African are top of the group table with four points.

His departure has been confirmed by the Libyan Football Federation and on Wednesday by Belgian Amrouche, who told Reuters he was frustrated by working conditions with the team.

It will be recalled that the team have been playing their home games away from Libya, a situation which might have contributed to his resignation.

The Super Eagles are expected to face Libya on Friday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium before the reverse fixture three days later in Tunisia.
