Ex-international, Dosu Joseph believes the 24-man squad released by Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr are capable of overcoming Seychelles in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on September 7.
Rohr on Friday named a formidable squad mixed with youth and experience as Nigeria hopes to secure maximum points after losing their opening fixture 2-0 to South Africa.
The team is expected to regroup next weekend for the first time after featuring at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where Nigeria crashed out in the group stages.
However, the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist told Soccernet.ng that the invitation of some new faces would help solidify the team ahead of Seychelles Clash.
I must commend the Super Eagles technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr for the squad of players he has invited against Seychelles
First, there is some level of continuity in the team that played at the World Cup except for some omission of Mikel Obi, Echiejile and Victor Moses who recently announced his retirement.
In all, I believe Rohr has a team capable of picking the three points against Seychelles in Victoria and I give kudos to his scouting team that has discovered a few additional players to the squad. – Dosu Joseph | Soccernet.ng
