Super Eagles defender, Tyronne Ebuehi has disclosed that William Troost-Ekong was a major factor behind his decision to represent Nigeria.
Ebuehi featured for the senior national at the just concluded 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia where the team crashed out in the group stages.
However, the Benfica newly recruit told BBC that Troost-Ekong played a major role in his decision to play for Nigeria.
“Born in the same city [Haarlem] as me, Troost-Ekong gave me some advice and told me about the benefits of playing for Nigeria,” he said.
“As a big brother he had played for the Netherlands at junior levels before choosing Nigeria, so he also had a big role to play in my decision.”
