Sacking Pinnick won’t solve Nigeria’s football problem – Kpakor

Ex-international, Moses Kpakor says the decision of the Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung to use the Federal powers to remove Nigeria Football Federation President, Amaju Pinnick isn’t an end to the nation’s football problems.

In the statement issued in July, the Sports ministry directed the Nigeria Football Federation, a parastatal under it, to comply with a court order setting aside the election into the Executive Committee of the NFF held on September 30, 2014.

Mr Dalung said the directive followed a written notification signed for the Attorney-General of the Federation requesting the sports ministry to ensure compliance.

However, Kpakor told Soccernet.ng that such actions would only bring more crisis to the nation’s football rather than reshaping it for good.

“I am not particularly happy with the latest development going on in Nigeria’s Football between the Nigeria Football Federation President, Amaju Pinnick and the Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung,” Kpakor told Soccernet.com.ng

“Besides, I see no reason why Pinnick should be sacked from his position when we know that the NFF Election will come up very soon (August) I believe.

“The truth is that the current crisis will turn FIFA’s attention on Nigeria and that may attract another sanction for our football.

“It is high time we learn to maintain stability in the control of our football irrespective of who is in the position. A crisis like this will only take our football backwards rather than forward.”
