France crowned world champions, beat Croatia 4-2

France are crowned Champions of the FIFA World Cup after beating Croatia 4-2 in Sunday’s final in Moscow.

Le Blues took the lead in the 18th minutes through Mario Mandzukic’s own goal before Ivan Perisic levelled the score in the 28th minutes.

However, France extended their lead through Antonio Griezmanne via a penalty before Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe, to hand the Croats a huge task of coming back.

But a Hugo Lloris’s howler gifted Mandzukic a simple tap-in to reduce the scoreline to 4-2.

All efforts to equal proved abortive as France lifed their second World Cup in Russia.

The last time they won the World Cup was on home soil in 1998, where they defeated Brazil 3-0.
