Nigeria not wary of Messi – Rohr

By Augustine Akhilomen

Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr has disclosed that playing against Messi would be a collective and not an individual solution at the World Cup.

Nigeria will face Argentina in their last group fixture in an encounter that would see the team confront Barcelona star, Lionel Messi after they might have played Croatia and Iceland.

However, Rohr who was in charge in Nigeria’s 4-2 win over Argentina in an international friendly match in 2017 told fcbarcelonalive.com that the team would do all to mark out Messi at the World Cup.

“If Argentina wins its first two games, Messi may not want to play against us, that’s another
possibility,” Rohr was quoted by www.fcbarcelonalive.com.

“In the alternative that he plays against us, nothing is impossible. The only solution against Messi is a collective and not an individual solution. We will have time to observe,” the Nigeria coach remarked.
