I could leave Barcelona – Iniesta

Andrés Iniesta has admitted he could leave FC Barcelona. “I have two options,” he said in a post-match interview after the Catalans’ 3-0 win over Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League, “I could stay, or I could leave. In the next few weeks I will decide. It’s a decision I have to take and my posture hasn’t changed since I signed my renewal.”

The player has been linked with a switch to playing in the Chinese league after a long and prosperous career with Barcelona. “The club will know before you do,” the captain said. “It’s a decision that I have to take and I have to take it before April 30th, if I stay or if I go.”

Iniesta joined the academy about 22 years ago and has gone on to become the second all-time appearance leader for the club. He’d need about 100 more appearances to pass Xavi. It’d be feasible for him to pass Xavi in two or three seasons.
