Chinese club deny Iniesta interest

Recent transfer rumours have linked Andres Iniesta to Chinese club Tianjin Quanjian. Those rumours were quickly dispelled by the club themselves.

“This information is false,” the club said.

Some of the details involving the transfer had gotten a bit strange as well, including some tantalizing details that the club had offered to buy some of Iniesta’s signature wine to sweeten the deal.

The rumours come at an interesting crossroads in Iniesta’s career while he is facing injury concerns. The midfielder is currently out with a hamstring injury and attempting to recover in time for Barcelona’s stretch run.

While the club is denying the rumours now, there’s certainly a possibility that Iniesta goes the same route as Xavi and moves for one last big contract instead of staying at Barcelona to sit on the bench. When that time will come is the only thing that’s unclear as of yet.
