The Nigeria Football Federation believes Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr has the tactical and technical capabilities to conquer all opponents at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
The football body insisted that the appointment of Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr has been a blessing in disguise for the senior national team despite his early criticisms by some critics that his profile doesn’t worth being the Super Eagles coach.
According to an inside source in the NFF, he revealed that the NFF President, Amaju Pinnick has been pleased with the progress and achievements made by Rohr since taking over from Sunday Oliseh, a situation which led to the extension of his contract.
He noted that having qualified Nigeria for the World Cup, they believe he has what it takes to make appreciable impacts at the Mundial.
“The Nigeria Football Federation are really delighted with the achievements made so far by Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr since taking over the helm of affairs,” the source hinted to Soccernet.com.ng.
“Besides, I can confirm to you that there is a smooth understanding between the NFF and Rohr, which we believe will continue like this for a very long time.
“Most importantly, the NFF are confident in Rohr considering how he has gone about with his business of qualifying the Super Eagles for the World Cup despite facing teams such as Cameroon, Algeria and Zambia in the qualifying series.
“All things being equal, we have no doubt that he will deliver the best result for the senior national team at the Mundial. He’s a man who knows what he wants regardless of any side distraction. At least. Nigeria’s 4-2 win over Argentina in an international friendly match that was played last year should give you an understanding of what I am talking about.
“We believe in Rohr not just to qualify from the group stages that have Argentina, Croatia and Iceland, but to zoom all the way to the final.”
