Barca’s move for new midfielder collapses

Barcelona’s pursuit of Gremio midfielder Arthur has taken up headlines for some months now but the latest reports suggest a move is still not close.

Arthur had earlier said he was “nervous” about his impending move to Barcelona and that negotiations were continuing.

However, there’s been another update on the transfer. Marca reports that talks between the two clubs have now collapsed.

Apparently Gremio officials have been in Barcelona to finalise the deal but have been unable to agree on a number of factors and may well now return to Brazil.
