Messi set to regain Ballon d’Or supremacy over Ronaldo

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi is set to regain his ballon d’Or supremacy over his arch-rival, Cristiano Ronaldo after the Argentine forward told his close friends, according to report.

Messi was on great form for the Camp Nou outfit against Girona on Saturday after they thrashed the Girona 6-1 in their La Liga match and he hopes to maintain his level of fitness as Barcelona aim for the treble this season.

Messi wants to win more trophies this season in a bid to edge Ronaldo in the race of for the personal award.

According to Don Balon, Messi has told his inner circle that he wants to get back ahead of Ronaldo in the Ballon d’Or standings.

 Ronaldo has won the last editions of the Ballon d Or and equal Messi in the process has helped Real Madrid to historic back to back Champions League and the La Liga title for the first time in five years.

The Argentine has told his pals that he wants to upstage Ronaldo once more at the end of the season and he is working tirelessly to attain such feat and he is ready to power Barcelona to La Liga title and the Copa Del Rey title first before he challenges for the Champions League.

Messi is planning to seat out some domestic games in a bid to remain fresh for the next year’ s World Cup in Russia.
