Barcelona make opening bid for David Luiz

Barcelona have made their move for Chelsea defender David Luiz.

Luiz’s future at Chelsea remains clouded, despite manager Antonio Conte denying claims of a rift between the pair.

Telefoot says Barca are already in contact and have submitted a loan proposal to Chelsea ahead of the January market.

After approving the sale of Javier Mascherano to Hebei China Fortune, Barca need to find a readymade replacement for the veteran and have identified Luiz as a solution.

Barca’s offer is for a straight loan, which could suit Luiz as he seeks regular football so to stay in the World Cup plans of Brazil coach Tite.
