Barcelona chief in Chelsea to see Azpilicueta, Martial

Barcelona sports chief Robert Fernandez was at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Robert’s presence set tongues wagging as he took in Chelsea’s victory over Manchester United.

Sport says Robert attended specifically to check on Manchester United winger Anthony Martial and Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta. Both players are on the long-term shopping list of Barca.

Azpilicueta was outstanding on the night, creating Chelsea’s winner for Alvaro Morata. Martial, meanwhile, was a second-half substitute.

Azpilicueta said earlier this year: “It’s a compliment that a club like Barca are interested in you.

“Last year, after a bad season on the collective level, we didn’t have those type of rumours.

“I am very happy here. I feel very valued by the club and I do not think of anything else.”
