Super Eagles and Chelsea forward has been pulled out of Chelsea’s clash against struggling Crystal Palace who are leading the Premier League holders at Selhurst Park after 45 minutes.
The Nigerian international who sat out Chelsea’s defeat to Manchester City just before the international break returned to the Blues’ starting XI but could only manage 40 minutes of action before making way for Zappacosta after picking up a seeming knee injury.
The extent of the former Palace star’s injury is yet to be determined as the club is yet to make an official statement on his status. His exit means Chelsea’s injury list gets a plus one as Moses joins N’Golo Kante, Alvaro Morata and Daniel Drinkwater on the treatment table.
Palace went in front after 11 minutes after Cabaye’s effort was adjudged an own goal following a deflection off Azpilicueta but the Blues drew level seven minutes later after Bakayoko rose highest to head home Fabregas’ corner. Zaha restored Palace’s lead on the stroke of half time after driving into space in the Chelsea area before clipping a shot into the far corner.
Before Saturday’s game, Palace hadn’t scored a goal in the League but they have struck twice and Wilfred Zaha seems to have transformed his side into a different team.
