CHAN 2018: Super Eagles Set To Overturn Squirrels 1-0 Deficit

By Augustine Akhilomen

After a disappointing 1-0 defeat against Benin Republic last weekend, Super Eagles will be poise to overturn the deficit as they welcome the Squirrels in the second leg of the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.

Benin won the first leg 1-0 in Cotonou thanks to a late penalty by captain Seibou Mama in the 86th minutes.

The team and the coaching crew will be hoping to avoid a shock like the one they suffered in qualifying for the finals of the 2011 tournament for locally-based players when they lost to Niger 2-0 on aggregate.

However, a high scoreline win for the team on Saturday will automatically book their place in the CHAN tournament slated for Kenya.
