Sevilla beat Real Madrid to sign Barcelona defender

Sevilla have swooped for Barcelona defender Mariano Konyk.

Sevilla have beaten Real Madrid to Konyk’s signing after Barcelona agreed to release the youngster this week.

Barca B could not register Konyk due to his non EU status and he had been in talks with Real Madrid.

However, it was confirmed on Wednesday that he had signed for Sevilla and will spend the coming season with Atletico Sevilla.

The 19 year-old, while his parents live in Barcelona, is of Ukrainian origin.

  • Atlético Sevilla???...

I'm sorry, it's actually Sevilla Atlético. They aren't Atlético Madrid or Athletic Bilbao(Bilbaos second team used to be called Bilbao Athletic by the way)

Other than that mistake, sounds like a good signing.
