Barcelona officials arrive in England for €100m target

Barcelona officials have arrived in England to push for a deal to sign Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

The Camp Nou giants have been linked with a swoop for the Brazilian international for a while now and a move to seal the deal has been made by the Barcelona Chiefs.

Liverpool considered one of their most priced asset non-transferable according to Sport, but Barcelona is set to test them with a €100m bid.

It’s added that negotiations are moving forward as the Catalan giants switch their focus from Marco Verratti to the Liverpool ace as their marquee signing this summer.

Coutinho is keen on the move but he doesn’t want to force a move out of Liverpool, he wants to do it in the right way with the Anfield giants which has prompted Barcelona to send delegates to England.

Liverpool and Barcelona have not even agreed on the transfer fee officially and they are yet to agree on personal terms with the player.

Wages are also an issue as it’s noted that there is no agreement on personal terms yet with Coutinho’s hefty demands, and so there certainly seems to be a long way to go before any deal is reached.

What is clear is that the former Inter playmaker is a key part of Jurgen Klopp’s side, and he’ll be desperate to see him stay at Liverpool, especially as they prepare for their return to the Champions League this season.

Coutinho had an impressive campaign last year, scoring 14 goals while providing nine assists in 36 appearances in all competitions as he was an influential creative hub for the Reds despite sustaining an injury last season.
