Barca set to rival Chelsea and Man City for a defender

Barcelona is set to rival Chelsea and Manchester City for Italian defender Leonardo Bonucci this summer.

The Nou Camp outfit is the most likely club to tempt the defender away from Juventus according to reports in Tuttosport and has reported by Football Italia.

The Turin-based newspaper warns that the Blaugranaare setting their sights on the Italy international.

The Italian defender has been the subject of huge offers from the Premier League in recent months, above all Antonio Conte’s Chelsea and Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

The defender has put in a solid performance over the years for his national team and Juventus which has attracted the attention of the Spanish and English giants.

The Bianconeri have always stated they won’t sell Bonucci, but if the player asks for a transfer, then they would be prepared to negotiate.

Bonucci was signed from Bari in 2009 to Juventus and he has made 227 appearances for Juventus and scored 15 goals.

The price-tag is expected to be in the region of €70m for the centre-back who just turned 30 in May.

Barcelona might not be able to pay such amount considering the age of the defender and could be tempted to look elsewhere if the negotiation does not swing to their side.
