Barca consider four-man shortlist as Verratti’s alternative

Barcelona has identified a four-man shortlist as a replacement to their summer target Marco Verratti, the Catalan giant has been heavily linked with a move with the Paris Saint-Germain star this summer as reported by Marca.

The capital club has no desire to pathways with their midfield maestro and that has forced Barcelona to search for alternatives according to Marca.

The names linked to being the alternative of the Italian midfielder are Paulinho (GuangzhouEvergrade), Ander Herrera (Manchester United), Jean Michael Seri (OGC Nice) and Oriol Romeu ( Southampton) are all suggested to be the real deal.

The issues to the move of these players are their respective clubs are not ready to sell, it is noted that Barcelona will have to splash out a minimum of €20mto land one of these players, but it remains to be seenwho they go for.

It will be a huge source of frustration and disappointment if they can’t secure the services Verratti this summer though as the report adds that he wants the move, but if Paris Saint-Germain isn’t willing to do business then Barcelona have no option but to move on.

Meanwhile,Mundo Deportivoclaimthat the club has rejected a €45m bid from an unnamed club for Gomes, who has failed to deliver since his switch from Valencia last summer.

It appears the club still have faith in him despite enduring a disappointing campaign last year, with many critics suggesting that he will struggle to prove himself a Barcelona player.

Dani Ceballos remains a separate matter and will be pursued despite Real Madrid undying interest in signing the Real Betis.
