Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho has promised Nigerians that the team would bounce back to winning ways against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in a 2018 World Cup qualifier.
Nigeria lost 2-0 to South Africa in Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo for the first time in a competitive game.
Iheanacho who was substituted in the second half by Super Eagles manaher, Gernot Rohr, tendered his apology for his attitude and assured that the team would won’t disappoint in their subsequent game against Cameroon in a 2018 World Cup qualifier in August 28.
“I wish to apologise too for the way I reactedwhen I was substituted. I did it for myself because as a striker I should have at least got at least shot on target,” he said .
“Unfortunately, I couldn’t do that. That’s why I was angry with myself. I wish to apologise to the manager, the coach and the Nigeria Football Federation for my action. That’s not me.
“For our next game, I believe we will come back stronger and better against Cameroon. I will improve my performance.”
