Ex-international, Dosu Joseph has said the Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr must not dwell on their 2-0 loss against Bafana of South Africa but shift focus on the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Cameroon.
Nigeria lost their unbeaten record against South Africa after falling 2-0 on Saturday in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, leaving the team third in Group E behind Libya and South Africa.
The Atlanta Olympic gold medalist in the Men’s football event who was unhappy with the team’s loss to South Africa told Soccernet.com.ng that the technical crew led by Gernot Rohr should put behind the defeat and concentrate on beating the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on August 28.
“I am not particularly worried about the team’s defeat against South Africa but my main concern has to do with the need for the technical crew to boost the morale of the players ahead of the big clash against Cameroon on August 28,” Dosu told Soccernet.com.ng
“There is no doubt that the AFCON remains an important tournament for us to qualify for after missing out in two competitions. However, the Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr must ensure he gets his tactics right against Cameroon because we can’t give room for any error again,” he said.
