Barca target rejects £8m-a-year PSG contract

Italian star, Marco Verratti has rejected a new contract of £8m-a-year from Paris Saint German amid reports of a move to Barcelona, according to Sport Mediaset.

The 24-year-old is said to be keen on a switch to Spain and he is currently valued at £88million but the former Ligue 1 champions are not willing to let him leave the club without a fight.

PSG’s former sporting director Patrick Kluivert recently revealed that Verratti wants to leave France.

‘Verratti renewed last year for four years and I know that Verratti wants to come to Barca but PSG will not let him,’ he said.

‘It’s going to be very difficult (for Barcelona to sign him). If a player is not happy in the end the one that decides are PSG.

‘Verratti’s worth more than €80m. I think he’s worth more than €100m.’
