Chelsea’s resolve is set to be tested by Barcelona over their pursuit of Cesar Azpilicueta.
Barca sports chief Robert Fernandez has already made contact with the Spain international’s camp this year and talks are now set to intensify.
Sport says the appointment of new coach Ernesto Valverde has only strengthened Barca’s plans to move for the defender.
Valverde is a big fan of Azpilicueta and wanted to sign him for Athletic Bilbao.
The defender’s versatility is also seen as ideal for Valverde’s system and Barca are now ready to make an offer to Chelsea for the 27 year-old.
