German side line up to sign Iheanacho

Bundesliga outfit Hoffeinheim is leading the chase to sign Nigerian youngster, Kelechi Iheanacho this summer, according to report in Germany.

The 20-year-old has failed to break into Pep Guardiola’s first time this season as Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus has been the preferred strikers for the Citizens.

Iheanacho is yet to speak publicly of his frustrations for sitting on the bench and sometimes completely ruled out of the team but reports from the Etihad suggests that the Nigerian is not happy with his situation and ready to leave in the summer.

Hoffeinheim are pushing for UEFA Champions League (UCL) qualification and after a fine campaign they feel Iheanacho can help improve their team next season but Manchester City are only willing to send the Nigerian on loan.

Iheanacho extended his stay at City to 2021 at the beginning of the season as Guardiola sees him as one for the future but the Nigerian wants more playing time which is why he will seek a move away from the Etihad at the summer.
