Oshoala shows relish for FC Robo

Dalian Quanjian FC and Super Falcons forward, Asisat Oshoala has expressed deep satisfaction with her former side, FC Robo Queens’ performance in the on-going Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL).

The former Liverpool Ladies markswoman was on ground to drum support as well as inspire the Lagos outfit to 3-2 win against hard fighting Ibom Angels in Wednesday’s NWFL matchday 4 clash in Lagos.

Oshoala said the side are certain to challenge for the podium dance should they continue on almost flawless performance in the top-flight.

“FC Robo Queens have exhibited higher performance and standard compared with what I saw of the side in the previous season and if they continue on the fine path I’m certain they will compete quite well for the podium dance.

“I’m really impressed with their performance so far in the league that has shown an all-round great improvement.

“I will always support the team to achieve higher success as my own humble way of giving back to the side that made me what I am today.

“My presence at their match venues will be regular once I’m opportune to further boost their confidence and morale,” said the former Arsenal Ladies goal poacher to supersport.com.

The reigning African best player equally had kind words for the NWFL board for the positive turnaround achieved in so short a time for the top-flight.

“I must wholeheartedly commend the NWFL board for a wonderful job they are doing for the league.

“The standard of the league has greatly improved as media awareness is unheard of in the history of the league.

“Of course, the improved standard is sure to throw up fresh legs as well as engender healthier competition in the national teams,” said the former Rivers Angels goal queen.

FC Robo Queens currently lead the NWFL Group A log on seven points two above closest challengers and champions, Rivers Angels.

The Lagos landladies will be the guests of Heartland Queens in Wednesday’s NWFL matchday 5 clash at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.
