Ndidi’s Mental Strength Will Take Him To Greater Height – Shakespeare

By Augustine Akhilomen

Leicester City coach Craig Shakespeare believes Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi is a unique player that has step into the shoes of N’Golo Kante with ease.

Ndidi marked his first Premier League goal with a ferocious 25-yard shot in the Foxes 2-0 win over Stoke City on Saturday as they gradually move out of the relegation zone.

The former Gent of Belgium star joined the team at the winter transfer and has managed to score two goals in all competitions for the Foxes.

Shakespeare said: “(Ndidi) is young and we don’t want to put too much pressure on him,” Shakespeare said on All Nigeria Soccer.

“He’s a humble boy and reminds a lot of Kante with his personality,” the tactician continued.

“First goal was always going to be crucial and what a goal it was. Ndidi has done that before.

“He’s got that in his locker.”

Ndidi, who joined Leicester from Belgian club Genk midway through the current 2016/17 campaign, has made nine league appearances for the Foxes.

The 20-year-old and his Leicester team-mates will face Sunderland AFC in a league game on Tuesday night.
