Super Eagles goalkeeper Carl Ikeme is in a race against time to be fit for his club’s EFL SkyBet Championship game against Brighton & Hove Albion on Friday.
Ikeme, who did not play for the Eagles in the recent international friendly against Senegal due to injury is not looking good for the game.
The 30-year-old has played 31 times for Wolves this season but has missed games against Cardiff City, Nottingham Forest and Bristol City.
“Carl will struggle again. It’s not moving as much as we thought it would be,” Wolves manager Paul Lambert told wolves.co.uk.
“It’s slow at the minute. But I’m more than happy with Andy Lonergan. I think he’s done really well for us, he made a great save on Saturday (against Bristol City).
“Losing Carl is a blow because he’s been excellent for us, but we can’t speed it up then we can’t speed it up.”
Wolves are 15th on the Championship log with 51 points from 41 matches.
