Pinnick elected into CAF executive committee

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Melvin Pinnick was yesterday elected into the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Pinnick won the West African Zone B seat into the Caf executive committee by defeating Benin Republic’s Anjorin Moucharafou.
Pinnick got 32 votes, 15 more than the Beninoise to be elected into office.
He will be an executive council member of Caf till 2021.
Speaking with The Guardian shortly after the election, Pinnick thanked Nigerians for their massive support saying: “I am really grateful for the level of support from Nigerians. I dedicate my victory in this election to God, my family members and all Nigerians.”
Also at the polls held in Addis Ababa, Egypt’s Hani Rida, Omari Selemani of DR Congo, Kwesi Nyantakyi of Ghana, Guinea’s Almamy Camara, and Lydia Nsekera of Burundi were elected to the FIFA Council for 2017 to 2021.
