Ndidi Seek West Ham Downfall

By Augustine Akhilomen

Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi hopes to maintain Leicester City’s winning run as they confront West Ham at the Olympic Stadium on Saturday.

The the Foxes are still basking on the euphoria of their qualification to the quarter final of the UEFA Champions League after beating Sevilla 2-0, 3-2 on aggregate in the round of 16 on Tuesday. The Foxes head to the capital hoping to record a fourth-straight win in all competitions following successive victories over Liverpool, Hull City and most recently Sevilla.

Ndidi was a key factor as he marshaled the team’s defence and played the entire 90 minutes of the encounter. His Nigerian compatriot, Ahmed Musa has not seen action since Craig Shakespeare took over from former boss, Claudio Raineri as a caretaker coach.

On the other hand, West Ham’s recent form is totally opposite to their opponent. They are without a win in the last four and are coming after suffering back-to-back defeats. Also, they have only one win to show from the last 6 matches and conceded a massive 13 goals during the process.

The two teams have played many games in the past (82), the Hammers have won 33, while the Foxes have won 29 and drew 20. Leicester are unbeaten against West Ham United in their last 5 outings, winning 4 out of their 5 meetings, they last lost a game against Hammers in 2014.
