Chelsea in talks with Nigerian prospect

Chelsea are reportedly in talk with Kelechi Onyewuenyi, the highly rated Texan club Houston Dynamo player who looks set to move to Europe at some point in the next 12 months.

According to All Nigeria Soccer, Chelsea, technical director, Michael Emenalo, is aware of his prowess and could offer him a chance at Stamford Bridge.

The Texas-born midfielder, who currently plays for Houston Dynamo’s Under-18s, is also reportedly attracting interest from other Premier League clubs and Norwegian outfit Rosenborg.

He turns 18 on March 15 and is also eligible to represent Nigeria. Onyewuenyi is compared to Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi, the former Chelsea midfielder who spent  10 years in the club winning the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, and Europa League.
