Chelsea have informed the Nigeria Football Federation that Victor Moses is injured.
The 26-year-old limped out of Monday night’s FA Cup quarter final against Manchester United with a minor calf problem.
But he returned to training later in the week and passed a fitness test to start in Saturday’s win at Stoke.
Despite Chelsea’s intervention, he is yet to withdraw from Nigeria’s squad for upcoming friendlies against Senegal and Burkina Faso.
“Chelsea have confirmed Victor Moses’ injury but he has not fully pulled out of the Super Eagles squad yet,” a Nigeria Football Federation insider confirmed.
Moses got through 70 minutes against Stoke before being replaced by Cesc Fabregas. Antonio Conte’s side claimed all three points at the death thanks to a Gary Cahill strike to move 10 points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
Willian had put Chelsea ahead before Jonathan Walters levelled from the penalty spot. Conte will hope to have Moses available when Crystal Palace visit Stamford Bridge after the international break.
