Super Eagles trio of Leon Balogun, Wilfred Ndidi and Sone Aluko have praised Barcelona 6-1 incredible comeback against PSG in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League at Camp Nou.
Having suffered a 4-0 upset in the first leg of the last 16 against a formidable PSG, the Catalans stepped before their home ground with mounting pressure on their backs and a lot of luck in their boots.
Barca scored three times after the 88th minute to stun Paris St Germain 6-1 at the Nou Camp on Wednesday night and win their Champions League last-16 tie 6-5 on aggregate.
Ndidi who plays for Leicester City in the Premier League posted on his twitter handle that the Catalans’ victory shocked him. “What a game!!! Barcelona?? ”
Also FSV Mainz 05 defender, Balogun revealed that Barca’s spectacular comeback against PSG remains the best football he’s ever seen.
“Can’t believe what I just witnessed – this is football 😱❤️⚽️ #FCBPSG”
In the same vein, Fulham striker Sone Aluko commented : “Still speechless. As for this guy though…. as good a performance I’ve seen. Courage and quality in abundance from @neymarjr”.
No team in UEFA club competition history had ever successfully overcome a 4-0 first-leg deficit but Barca wrote themselves into the record books thanks to goals from Neymar (two), Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, a Layvin Kurzawa own goal and Sergi Roberto.
Substitute Sergi Roberto stretched to stab home the winner from a Neymar centre five minutes into stoppage time to send the Nou Camp into ecstasy, and keep Barca on course for a trophy treble in what will be Luis Enrique’s last season in charge.
