Former Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia has revealed that he applied for job of coaching Orlando Pirates of South Africa.
Siasia has been out of work since leading the Nigeria Under-23 team to a bronze finish at the 2016 Olympic Games. The former Super Eagles striker failed to guide the national team to the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in his capacity as an interim coach, when former colleague Sunday Oliseh dumped the job.
“We’re talking, we have been in discussions for the past two weeks and I have already sent them my resume,” Siasia told African Football.
“My agent will contact me as soon as something comes up. It’s about time I got another job,” said Siasia.
Apart from the Pirates job, Siasia is also inthe hunt for Bafana Bafana of South Africa coaching job. Bafana Bafana are currently without a head coach following the dismissal of controversial tactician Ephraim ‘Shakes’ Mashaba two months ago.
