Following the spoils being shared by NPFL debutant, Remo Stars of Sagamu and Shooting stars in Lekan Salami Stadium, Remo gaffer, Fatai Osho has expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the tie.
Shooting Stars football Club of Ibadan, were held to a one-all draw at the end of the fierce contest.
The game was fast and furious in the early minutes with scoring chances beckoning on the host but at last, Sunday Faleye gave the hosts something to celebrate in 36th minute, when he buried a low drive past the keeper from the tight angle. Victor Mbaoma inspired his side to level the scores before the centre referee Ogabor Odey called for the break.
Soname boys were definitely charged up during the break and they were spoilt of choice as far as quality personnel is concerned. Top scorer, Victor Mbaoma, got the equaliser for the visitors in the 53rd minute, as they turned the inevitability into a genuine contest.
Remo Stars head coach, Fatai Osho in a chat with Soccernet.com.ng after the game described his side’s first point on the road in the ongoing Nigerian top-flight as as a morale boost.
“The 1-1 draw is really a morale boost for us going forward in the ongoing top-flight.
“We actually wanted to get the whole three points at stake, the draw is sure to encourage the players to do well in the next matches.
“This is our very first away point in the 10-week old elite league, a signal that we can do better in subsequent matches.
“The draw at 3SC is a good result to welcome former Nigerian champions Kano Pillars to our abode.
“Pillars are traditional and tough side but we must get our three points in the encounter,” Sugar as he’s fondly hailed concluded.
On the other hand, 3SC handler, Fatai Amoo rued some missed chances by his lads in the beginning of the encounter.
The draw at 3SC takes Remo Stars’ total points tally to eight from a possible 30 in the 10-week-old league, with a game in hand against FC IfeanyiUbah.
