Kanu Lauds Nwakali’s Man-Of-The-Match Award

By Augustine Akhilomen

Former Super Eagles striker, Nwankwo Kanu has lauded Kelechi Nwakali for grabbing the Man-of-the-Match award in MVV Maastricht’s goalless draw against FC Eindhoven in the Dutch’s Second Division League on Sunday.

Nwakali is on loan from Arsenal and was on from start to finish even though his team could not breakdown FC Eindhoven’s well organised defence. The former Flying Eagles midfielder made his professional debut for the side the same day against Jong Ajax. He came on as a 92nd-minute substitute for Thomas Verheijdt as MVV won 1–0.

However, Atlanta Olympic Gold medallist in the football event stated in his twitter handle that he feel delighted with Nwakali’s M.O.T.M award.

“With the man of the match MVV vs Eindhoven and still the best. Good to support the young ones,” Kanu tweeted with a photo of him and Nwakali.

Also, Nwakali wrote on his Twitter handle saying: “Great to win another man of the match today! Thank you mentor @papilokanu For coming today (Sunday).
