Lobi Stars Will Battle For NPFL Title – Uwua

By Augustine Akhilomen

After overcoming Enyimba FC 2-1 in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League to move four steps on the table, Lobi Stars coach, Godwin Uwua says the team can be true title contenders if they maintain their winning mentality.

The team which was sitting seventh on the log knew nothing but a victory would be a perfect tonic for their teeming fans that came to cheer them to victory.

Uwua, a former national youth team handler, told Soccernet.com.ng that beating Enyimba was a delight for him but he wants his team to improve on their performance.

“I am not really surprised that we defeated Enyimba 2-1 on our home soil because we really prepared very hard for it,” Uwua told Soccernet.com.ng.

“As far as I am concerned, the result is all that matters to me considering the fact that if we had lost this encounter, perhaps, we would have gone down a bit. My concern now is for us to maintain our winning mentality in the league because that’s the only way we can fight for the title,” he said.
