Super Eagles head coach, Salisu Yusuf says the senior national team will maintain their unbeaten run in their quest to pick the automatic ticket for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The three-time Africa champions are top of group B after beating Zambia 2-1 in Ndola before thrashing Algeria 3-1 in Uyo, to earn six points. Nigeria will face Cameroon on August 28, 2017 in Uyo, in an encounter that could determine the fate of both teams considering the fact that the Indomitable Lions sit second with two points.
Salisu who has maintained a perfect relationship with Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr since taking over in August, told Soccernet.com.ng that the team would continue their winning streak in 2017.
“To be frank, 2016 was a memorable year for the Super Eagles in terms of our World Cup campaign because it’s was what we wanted,” Salisu told Soccernet.com.ng
“What is paramount for the technical crew this year is on how the team will maintain an unbeaten run that will ultimately ensure Nigeria qualify for the 2018 World Cup,” he said.
