Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City in race for Julian Weigl

Barcelona interested in signing Julian Weigl

FC Barcelona are interested in signing highly rated Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl but will face a great obstacle in Real Madrid who have the upper hand in the transfer as the player has been offered to them by his agent.

SHOULD LUIS ENRIQUE CONTINUE AS BARCA COACH NEXT SEASON

The report was made by Madrid based Journal AS as backed by SPORT and it confirms that Manchester City are also interested in the services of the 21-year old as Pep Guardiola is a big fan of his.
AS reports that Weigl’s agent offered the player to Real Madrid who looked to have an interest in signing him, but Barcelona are also aware of his talent and see him as a star of the future, and the heir to Sergio Busquets in that CDM role. According to SPORT, Barcelona have been eyeing the midfielder for a very long time and the possibility that Real Madrid could postpone transfer until 2018 means Barça have a chance to capitalise on that loophole and snap their man in the summer of 2017.
Dubbed the new Sergio Busquets due to his ability to read the game and control the midfield, Weigl is young and highly intelligent and is regarded as one of Europe’s most promising players right now. He can play anywhere in central midfield which means he could be a solution to Barça’s midfield problems but truth be told, Weigl to Barça is highly unlikely even though the transfer would be fantastic is it goes through.
