The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has told players of the Super Falcons to show understanding over delay in settling their entitlements after emerging victorious at the 10th African Women’s Nations Cup in Cameroon.
Speaking with The Guardian , NFF spokesman, Ademola Olajire said that the body was still waiting for the Federal Government to release funds to settle the Falcons.
He also stated that paucity of fund in the NFF was not only affecting the Falcons, as players and officials of the Super Eagles are still being owed bonuses for two matches in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers. He added that the body was working hard to ensure the Falcons get their entitlements.
Olajire added that the Federation would give the female team all the needed backing to continue their winning streak in future engagements.
‘’The NFF is still waiting on the Federal Government formoney to settle the Falcons bonuses. I don’t understand why some people are putting sentiments on this Falcons’ bonuses. We are not placing any priority on Super Eagles over Falcons. NFF duty is to give all national teams the best assistance to excel. People should stop placing sentiments on the issue. We are yet to pay the Super Eagles their allowances for two matches and they are cooperating with us. It will be paid soon,” he said.
