NFF Should Seek For Corporate Partnership – Onigbinde

Former FIFA and CAF Instructor, Adegboye Onigbinde has advised the Nigeria Football Federation to seek for more corporate partnership in a bid to generate funds for the national teams.

The Glass House has always complained of inadequate cash to cater for some of the responsibilities of the Golden Eaglets, Flying Eagles, Dream Team, Super Falcons and Super Eagles due to the present economic recession.

Not delighted with the idea of the NFF seeking for financial help from the Federal government, the former Super Eagles coach, who took the team to the 2002 FIFA World Cup that was co-hosted by Korea/Japan, revealed that the NFF must device a mean of generating money for the various national teams.

“This is not the best time for Nigeria football considering the fact that 2016 will always be remembered for the Nigeria Football Federation inability to pay the allowances and bonuses of our national teams. Some of these problems fall on the desk of the NFF because they have failed to create a channel on how money can be generated to finance all our teams on international duties,” Onigbinde reveals.

“I have never supported their idea of meeting the government for assistance but for the fact that have not done the right thing; government will always be their last resort. I still believe we have many multinational organizations in Nigeria who will be willing to partner with NFF in reducing their financial burden.” he said.
