The League Management Company (LMC),has sanctioned the Kwara Stadium Complex to host matches of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL),for 2016/2017 season.
An official of the LMC,Elder Bode Oyewole, who inspected facilities at the stadium on Wednesday in Ilorin, told newsmen that he is satisfied with what was on ground.
“If what we have seen is anything to go by, I have no hesitation but to say the stadium is fit to host any match of any magnitude.
“All are the facilities are important, the changing room is as important as the match officials room, the sickbay is as important as the pitch.
“The ones that needs to be upgraded, have spoken with the appropriate authority” Oyewole said.
He said football is developing fast in Nigeria but added that one will be doing the country injustice if we are to compare our stadia to what is seen in Europe.
Newly promoted side, Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC, will be flying the Kwara state flag when the NPFL season resumes.
