Super Eagles trio of Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ahmed Musa will face a tough task of qualifying to the quarter final stages of the UEFA Champions League with their respective teams in England.
Iwobi’s Arsenal have been pitted alongside perenial rivals, Bayern Munich in the round of 16 of the competition. Both teams have met 10 times in the past, of which the Bavarians have had a slight edge over the Gunners.
Arsenal have been in a superb form in the Premier League as they sit second behind league leaders,Chelsea while Bayern are also top of the Bundesliga table. It is expected that both teams will have a difficult test at hand when they clash in February 2017 at the Allianz Arena in the first leg before facing each other in the return leg in March 2017.
Also, Iheanacho will have a taste of Paris as Manchester City host Monaco in the first leg knockout stages of the Champions League at the Etihad Stadium.
All things been equal, the Nigeria international who scored his first UCL goal against Celtic, will be hoping to get a chance against Monaco.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Musa will hope Leicester City’s Cinderella run continues in Europe as the Foxes tackle three-time Europa League winners, Sevilla in the round of 16 of the competitions.
After coming top in a group that consists of former UCL champs, Porto, Copehengan and Club Brugge, the Foxes, under the guardians of manager, Claudio Reineri knows that they can fancy their chances against Sevilla.
