Leicester City interested in signing Ndidi

Premier League champions Leicester City have made a bid for Nigeria international Wilfried Ndidi, this is according to fcnaija.com.

Ndidi,
19, currently plays for Genk in Belgium, and has been one of the club’s
standout players since joining and continues to post impressive
performances for the Jupiler club.

His performances have now
attracted the interest of Leicester, who are still struggling to replace
N’Golo Kante, who left the Foxes to join Chelsea in the summer.

According
to reports in Belgium, Leicester have already made £15.5m for the
Nigeria international, but it is expected that Genk will expect
something closer to £20m, which Leicester are also believed to be
willing to pay.

Ndidi came to prominence in 2013 when he
represented Nigeria at the FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey, and was also a
member of Nigeria’s U17 class of that same year along with the likes of
Kelechi Iheanacho, but didn’t make it to that year’s FIFA U17 World Cup.

He started out as a central defender, before being converted to a midfielder by Genk, where he has since excelled.

Although,
he played at right back for Nigeria in their World Cup qualifier
against Zambia last month, and came in as a midfielder in the win over
Algeria this month.

If he joins Leicester, he will become the second Nigerian at the club after Ahmed Musa, who joined the Foxes in the summer.
