FC Barcelona lost during the midweek against Manchester City after an unconvincing performance against Grabada last weekend. The Catalans return to La Liga action where they take on Spanish powerhouse Sevilla at the Sánchez Pizjuán on Sunday night.
Luis Enrique failed to win any of his two Liga games against Sevilla at the Sánchez Pizjuán and is aware the game will be a tough one for his team. The Asturian coach has named 18 players in his squad to face Jorge Sampaoli’s men who are yet to drop a point at home this season.
The likes of Captain Andrés Iniesta, Gérard Piqué, Jordi Alba, Aleix Vidal and Jérémy Mathieu are still oit through injuries which means only 17 players from the first team are available for selection including third choice goalkeeper Jordi Masip who was dropped. Arda Turan features in the squad despite fears of injury.
With 16 first team players called up, Luis Enrique completed the list by adding two players from the B team in Nili and Marlon. Both players who featured in the last two squad lists are still very unlikely to make their debut. Nili will wear 31 while Marlon will man the number 33 jersey.
