Zambia’s
Honourable Sports Minister, Moses Mawere has charged the senior national team
to beat the Super Eagles at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Sunday’s 2018 FIFA
World Cup qualifier.
The
Chipolopolo would be hoping to create an upset against a Super Eagles side, in
a bid to begin their campaign on a bright note. Both teams last met at the 2013
AFCON tournament in South Africa where the encounter ended in a 1-1 draw.

However,
Mawere, who’s still sad over the team’s failure to qualify for the Nations Cup,
revealed to the Post that anything short of victory against Nigeria would be
satisfactory.

“The
country’s expectation is high, the only hope is the World Cup after failing to
qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations. I challenge the players and coaches to
step up and perform better. We need to beat Nigeria, we can do it,” Mawere
said.
