BREAKING: Ter Stegen injury blow for Barcelona

Ter Stegen injured, out of the Alaves game
FC Barcelona goalkeeper Marc Andre Ter Stegen is out of the club’s third Liga game of the season against Deportivo Alaves on Saturday after picking up a muscle injury in training.
According to a report from Spanish source Mundo Deportivo, Ter Stegen picked up a muscle injury in the club’s Friday training session and will miss Barça’s game against Alaves on Saturday. This means that new signing Jasper Cillessen is likely to make his debut for the club unless Luis Enrique decides to make use of Jordi Masip instead.

This is the second time this season the German goalkeeper will be missing out on a game after picking up an injury in training. The star had to sit out both legs of the Spanish Super Cup tie against Sevilla through injury, and also Barça’s first Liga game of the season. He returned in the club’s 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao where he had a great performance.

Ter Stegen is Barça’s number one keeper now that Claudio Bravo is gone, Jasper Cillessen is most likely to start vs Alaves. The injury is yet to be officially confirmed and there is no specified date for his return, but he might just be out for two weeks as speculated by SPORT which means he’ll miss games against Alaves, Celtic and Leganes.
