Five Afcon qualifier matches to watch this weekend

The African
Nations cup qualifier for the carbon 2017 showpiece world becoming to a dose
this weekend with teams like Senegal, Egypt, Cape Verde, Cameroon all booked a
place alongside with the host Gabon for a place in the next year Afcon tertian game
would some various purpose for their respective teams in Africa. With Nigeria
out of the race and facing Tanzania certain things are for be looked forward to
even as the Egyptians, Chad home game have been cancelled citing different
challenges as reason for the cancellations. This note we take a look at five
games to be played on the African scene as qualifiers draws to a close.
NIGERIA VS TANZANIA
The super Eagles
will be at home to the Taifa stars of Tanzania in the Godswill Akpabio Stadium
in Uyo later today in the Afcon with a high level of expectation from the
Nigerians as they supporters are set to converge for kick-off, the Eagles will
there array of stars like John obi Mikel (Chelsea), Odion Ighalo (Watford) and
assistant skipper Ahmed Musa (Leicester City) all in attendance the Eagles will
be expected to beat the Taifa stars at least on the home front but that is not
all that catches the eye as the visiting Tanzania side will be hoping to cause
an upset as an unknown quantities and with football nothing is guaranteed even
as the Uyo Stadium have not really been as laughter ground for Eagles following
recent failures and disappointing outcomes at the match venue. Also the German cannot
Rohr will be making his Super Eagles debt at on the coaching his seat as
Nigeria are watching in earnest to see how the German will fare against
Tanzania possibly with a win.
GHANA VS RWANDA
The Black stars
of Ghana will be welcoming the Rwanda side in a last home game in the Nations
cup qualifiers but it will be nice to see how the African giants will fare at
home amongst some certain challenges and chaos rocking the football scene in
Accra, Ghana now the Ghanaian sports minister was allegly criticized for
falling on his duties when he advice Aram currant, the Ghana Head coach to
prosecute the final game against Rwanda will a pool of home based players
thereby not releasing transport games for the foreign players ticket (flight)
down for the game which other nations are using to fine tune strategies for
world cup qualification this have forced Ghanaian players to pay for their
ticket down to Ghana for the match with West Ham star Andre Ayew standing in to
bell the cat and put an to the current situation. This criticism directed towards
the sports minister have generated chaos in the Ghana football as Asante citied
that qualification is already guarantee for next year’s Afcon as his reason for
his decision. It will be nice to see how the Black stars will handle this and
put up a great showing against Rwanda as they will be captain by Udinese Emmanuel
Agyemang Badu.
ANGOIA VS CAPE VERDE
The two South
African Nations, who are Neighbours to Zambia and South Africa will lock horn
once again in Luanda as both sides continue rivalry on the match turf when the reference
sets the ball rolling. The Angolan side have struggled over the years after the
golden generation captained by fabric Akwa denied Nigeria a place in 2006 world
cap in the unfortunate head-to-head rule as they defeat Nigeria 1-0 in Luanda and
drew 1-1 with Nigeria in Abuja after Nigeria have taken the lead through
inspirational captain Austin Jay-Jay Okocha from a decent free-kick, with
football rising in Cape Verde following the influx of foreign-born talent who
have Portuguese blood in their veins within the Cape Verde expected the Island
to become a tough nut for host Angola to crack at home when the Portuguese
Speaking Countries take to the pitch bearing in mind the Cape Verde Island have
booked a place in the African show piece next year (2017) in Gabon.
CAMEROON VS GAMBIA
The indomitable
lions at least should record another win against another African football minnows
Gambia who are visiting Cameroon for their some sorts of pound of flesh in
their minds after they lost 0-1 at home to the indomitable lions earlier with
qualifying series. The Cameroonians have already qualified for the Tournament in
Gabon 2017 but will used they game to text some new players as the Cameroon coach
Volker Finke had decided to call up some fresh legs like the 27 years old Heats
FC midfielder Arnaud Djoum who was very much delighted with his call up despite
been eligible to play for Belgium following a stinct at the Belgian league. Though
players like Liverpool defender Joel Matip have constantly turned down a move fore
present his fatherland Cameroon in recent times despite featuring for the
African power house in 2010 and 2014 world cup with no clear reason Finke have
decide to leave out regulars Nicolas Nkoulou, Eyong Enoh, Alex Song, Aurelio Chedjou
and co to try out fresh level who can bolster the squad for future assignment as
Nigerians (Rohr) keep an eye on the Cameroon our opponent with respect to the
looming world cup qualifiers which lots up later in the year.
SENEGAL VS NAMIBIA

The Terenga lions
of Senegal are another side to watch in the qualifiers not necessarily because
of any form of football crises in Senegal or for any spying deliberations but
to the fact that the likes of West Ham Cheick Kouyate, Crystal Palace left back
Pape N’diaye Souaré and the forward pairing of talent due of Liverpool new
signing Sadio Mane who moved from Southampton to join the Reds in the summer
and the talented Balde keita who will surely from a great attack for the Teranga
wins ahead of a home match with Namibia who got nothing to loose in defeat as they
lost in the first leg 2-0 as well with Mane the architect of that defeat earlier
in the qualifiers. The Terenga lion of Senegal possess an array of talent and
it will be interesting to see how they conform when they take on Namibia
bearing in mind that Senegal have been handed a decent and ran gable group in
the World Cup qualifiers.
